Description

This I just painted it, just cuz. It's of the side of my house. As I was painting, I decided to give it to my mom. But when I finished it, she was asleep so I had to wait, but in the meantime I showed it to my dad, and he FLIPPED over how much he loved it. But I'd already told my mom I was giving it to her! D: So, I followed through and gave it to her. And now it's obvious she doesn't like it, but won't flat-out say so, it's the way she says things. But my dad honestly wants it and loves it. So, now I'm on a mission to make him something as good, but I've failed twice now.

My photo that I took and used as reference: [link]

God...It's like comparing me to Monet. I love E.'s landscapes, so I'll take it!! :DDD I do have a bad habit of being too detail oriented with my art to really effectively use watercolours - I'm quite proud of the one I made you, because I feel I successfully for the first time ever managed to stop before I was painting door numbers on all the houses and little bugs on all the leaves, etc. lol.

You say things that make me feel really happy. I'm a borderline professional photographer, and I know I'm good at it, so art to me has always been the more challenging of the two for me, like where photography is about the timing and lighting and framing, and subject - drawing/painting is about capturing the things that are impossible for cameras to. Like the feeling of the air, the emotion you feel whilst looking at the subject, and I feel like chasing those qualities with a camera has made me the good photographer I am. Yin/Yang, you know. lolololol. God, I'm so full of it.
